For the second time in about 13 months, the San Antonio, Texas club filed for bankruptcy protection, just a day before the property was set to be sold at a foreclosure sale initiated by the San Antonio River Authority, to which the club owes more than $850,000. General Manager John Clay said the club has received offers on the property and is combing through its options.
The San Antonio, Texas club is attempting to get out of bankruptcy and continue operating after revealing a potential deal to sell its 7-acre driving range. Woodlake filed for Chapter 11 in December, citing bad weather, a scarcity of new golfers and a weak economy.
The owners of the public, 40-year-old San Antonio, Texas club are looking to revive business by welcoming input through public forums and starting a membership drive. Stiff competition, drought issues and economic woes have caused a 30 percent drop in business over the past few years.
The four were arrested on charges of theft, receiving stolen property from Aronimink Golf Club and White Manor Country Club, and defiant trespass.
