Ballamor Golf Club's new ownership has made a new offer to compensate former members and other creditors of the private golf course in Egg Harbor Twp, N.J., which will soon turn into a public course at the beginning of the year, reports the Press of Atlantic City.

The club would not release specific details about the proposal, except to say that members could get cash or playtime credit, said Liz Norton-Scanga, the golf club's director of marketing. The other creditors would get a cash settlement.

The proposed agreement was presented to creditors at a Dec. 10 meeting. Golf club members and other creditors must still vote on the offer.

Ballamor is a 340-acre golf course along English Creek Avenue that opened in 2001. Ballamor's lawyers filed for bankruptcy Nov. 20. The club will re-open Jan. 1 as a public, daily-fee golf course.
