Construction is underway at a new Von Hagge, Smelek and Baril signature public golf development, to be called Stillwater, in Williamson County, N.C. The land was formerly the estate of country music star Tanya Tucker, and her mansion on the property will be converted into a new clubhouse for the course, according to a posting on the Nashville (Tenn.) Real Estate Authority blog.
Eagle Ridge Investments LLC bought the 500-acre tract for $11.5 million earlier this year, according to county records. Another 160 acres was purchased for $2 million.
Plans for Stillwater include an 18-hole championship public golf course (par 72) with ponds, mature trees and rolling hills, according to the report. The course is expected to open in the first quarter 2009.
