Worthington Country Club is preparing for a $9 million facelift that will overhaul almost all of the common facilities in the Bonita Springs, Fla., gated community.

The changes, scheduled to be completed in late 2009, are intended to keep Worthington competitive, Paul Mankowsky, Worthington's General Manager, told the News-Press, which serves Southwest Florida.

Worthington’s clubhouse and outdoor dining area will be completely renovated. A new pool cabana will be built and the pool area will be refurbished. The club's pro shop will get a new home, along with the tennis shop, fitness center and media center.

Construction will start in December.
