Making Golf a Rewarding Experience

Purchases made at courses operated by Marriott Golf now can be applied to the parent company’s Marriott Rewards program, under an initiative that has been several years in development.

The initiative, Marriott Golf Links, allows Rewards members to accumulate 10 points for every dollar spent on green fees and pro-shop purchases. Marriott Golf manages 61 courses at 45 locations in 13 countries. Guests can accumulate Rewards points at 20 Marriott clubs—others will be added as they install the necessary point-of-sale systems—and redeem points for golf at 34 clubs.

“Our hope is that we are able to create more loyalty with our golfers by allowing them to earn more Marriott Rewards points for their golf and redeem their points for hotel stays, golf and spa treatments,” said Tom Enders, Marriott Golf’s Director of Marketing. “We’re trying to increase market share, and this is a program that is going to help us to do that.”

Twenty Marriott Golf facilities had the systems in place when the program launched in July 2008. The Rock Golf Club in Minett, Ontario, will join the program in the fall of 2008, and Marriott Golf hopes to bring 10 United Kingdom facilities into the program by 2009.
