As at many clubs, the staff at Plantation Golf & Country Club in Venice, Fla. is often called away from the main reception area to tend to specific needs. To help provide more consistent customer service at its Membership Services front desk for the times when its receptionist is needed elsewhere, Plantation installed a wireless monitoring system that now allows back-up personnel in the club’s offices to know when a member needs assistance at an unattended station.
A camera placed in the reception area now feeds a picture to a monitor in the staff offices, so whoever is on duty as back-up receptionist can immediately see if someone is waiting for help at the reception desk. Members are much happier with the immediate attention and reduced wait time this system has ensured for greeting them and checking them in or assisting them with any other needs.
Internally, adds Plantation’s General Manager, Barry McDonald, the system has helped to promote teamwork and the concept of shared responsibilities, at the same time that it has improved employee productivity.
