A bad golf shot at Wildcreek Golf Course last month caused a brush fire that burned nearly 20 acres adjacent to the facility, located in (we kid you not) Sparks, Nev. The Reno Gazette-Journal reported that the golfer had knocked his ball into grass beyond the course, and “when he tried to play it back to the fairway, his club struck something that created a spark and started the fire.”
