Kingwood Helps Members Wash their Worries Away

Just in time for summer, members at The Clubs of Kingwood (Tex.), a ClubCorp property, are enjoying its new water park—one of the first in the private club industry—complete with an adult pool, newly resurfaced family pool, slide pool, splash pad and a 500-foot “lazy river.”

The Water Park is phase II of an overall master plan for revitalization that was developed more than five years ago. Phase I was the completion of the Family-Friendly FasTee Golf Course at Atascocita.
“These new family-focused facilities have enabled the club to offer several new membership options and become much more relevant to our community,” says Mike Feild, General Manager. “Kingwood’s Water Park is testimony to our leading-edge efforts to reinvent the private club model.”

Aside from these refreshing new summer attractions, the club is also creating a new fitness facility, due to open in early August, that will provide members with on-site child care, a food and beverage café, a spa, and tennis retail store.
(Editor’s Note: The August issue of C&RB will provide details on the new facilities at The Clubs at Kingwood, as part of a special report on ClubCorp properties.)
