Redesigned to improve the business of golf and grow participation in the game, the 54th PGA Merchandise Show will kick off on January 25th at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
The three-day event will feature more than 1,200 interactive exhibits from golf manufacturers such as TaylorMade, Callaway and Nike, along with 400 new companies launching products.
In addition to the show’s regular program, here’s an overview of this year’s new features:
• PGA Global Economic Summit.
International golf leaders will address global golf trends and the economic significance of the game, including tourism, employment and tax dollars.
• Trends Presentations. Industry experts will speak about emerging equipment and apparel trends, along with insights into how to use and profit from them.
• PGA Equipment Forum. Equipment manufacturers will introduce the latest equipment and present programs on equipment technology, club-fitting services and company incentives to grow equipment sales.
• “By the Professionals for the Professionals” Education Conference. These seminars will focus on industry trends and how to utilize trend information to positively impact golf retailing.
• PGA Golf Shop.Check out the replica of a high-end working golf shop, featuring unique merchandise and workshops specifically designed for private, resort and public facilities.

The Watch List Equipment: TourEdge, Nike and Callaway will prove it’s hip to be square when they launch new square drivers at the show. “They will be one of the more unique things this year,” says John Stutz, Head Golf Professional at Purgatory Golf Club, Noblesville, Ind. Apparel: High-tech golf shirts are “by far, the biggest seller” at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Ariz., says Cathy McVean, Area Retail Manager. “They have the moisture-wicking fabric, the SPF in the fabric and you don’t have to iron them.” « Fairway Golf & Resort's new sport performance collection, Dry-Point, will make its debut at this year's PGA Show. |
