Club & Resort Business will again devote its April issue to presenting in-depth looks at the whats, hows and whys behind the most successful ideas that are producing added revenues, reducing costs and generating new efficiencies at leading club and resort properties. Here’s a sneak peak at some of those winning ideas:
The Fort Worth (Tex.) Club—has carved a profitable niche through an annual schedule of highly attended special events, including Boxing Night (which sells out each year in 15 minutes, includes a steak dinner, and is sponsored by beer and liquor suppliers) and the Silver Bells Holiday Boutique (which attracts nearly 1,000 ladies for $40 brunch and $35 cocktail sessions, and also generates revenues from specialty vendors who pay booth fees).
Meanwhile, the Peninsula Yacht Club, Cornelius, N.C.—turned a weekend when revenues are normally low into a rollicking “Pirates of the Peninsula” festival that now gives members of all ages the opportunity to participate around a central theme and has become a regular, signature event (with a rum-company sponsorship).
