A Chinese university is requiring students in business administration, law, economics and computer technology to take golf lessons to prepare them for a business world where deals are made on the links, the state news agency reported last month.
Xiamen University’s golf range will debut on campus by the end of this year.
“The aim is to help the students find good jobs,” Sports Professor Chen Xiao was quoted as saying.
According to The Associated Press, Xiamen joins a growing number of Chinese schools offering golf lessons, but requiring them is unusual.
