Excellence In Club Management Award Dinner

The Excellence in Club Management Awards, co-sponsored by McMahon Group and Club & Resort Business magazine, recognize private club general managers, managers and chief operating officers who have exhibited outstanding skills in directing the staff and operations of their properties. As a special event held in conjunction with the 2008 Golf Industry Show, C&RB and the McMahon Group honored recipients of the 2007 Awards at a special reception and dinner on January 31 at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Windermere, Fla. Photos from that event, as captured by the camera of C&RB Managing Editor Joanna Lefebvre, are presented in this special photo gallery.

 

This year's Excellence in Club Management Awards winners included:


• Country/Golf Club with 600 or More Full-Privilege Members Category: Mr. John Wright, ECM, Norwood Hills Country Club, St. Louis, Mo.
• Country/Golf Club with less than 600 Full-Privilege Members: Mr. Tom Wallace III, ECM, Oakmont Country Club, Oakmont, Pa.
• City, Athletic or Specialty (non-golf) Clubs of all types: Mr. Harry Richter, CCM, ECM, The California Club, Los Angeles
• 2007 Rising Star Award Winner: Mr. Peter Schaub, CCM, ECM, The California Club, Los Angeles
• 2007 Rising Star Award Winner: Mr. Peter Lovelace, ECM, Cosmos Club, Washington, D.C.

To be eligible for the award, a club manager must be nominated by another party. Award recipients are selected based solely on their achievements at the club they currently manage; lifetime achievements, while notable, are not the focus of this award.

Winners are determined by an independent Award Selection Committee comprised of industry peers. McMahon Group and Club & Resort Business are not involved in the judging and selection of the winners.
