WILDFIRES 2007

The devastating wildfires that ravaged Southern California last month may have finally been extinguished, but the after-effects are still smoldering at many clubs and resorts. (For a full report, see C&RB’s November issue.) Pala Mesa Golf Resort, about 19 miles north of Escondido in San Diego Country, suffered the greatest damage from the fires; here are some photos provided by Mark Louder, the resort’s Golf Course Superintendent.

MIXED GREENS

THE FRENCH PASTRY SCHOOL AND WORLD CHOCOLATE MASTERS

Pastry chef prowess was put to the test during the National Restaurant Association's 2007 Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show in Chicago. The French Pastry School chefs showed of their sculpting skills with sugar at the school's booth at the show, and later hosted the World Chocolate Master's 2007 National Competition at their building in downtown Chicago.

2007 NRA SHOW IN CHICAGO

The National Restaurant Association’s 2007 Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show completed a record-breaking, four-day run at McCormick Place in Chicago on May 22, 2007. The "sold out" event drew nearly 74,000 attendees from all 50 states and 110 countries looking for products and services of the record breaking 2,142 exhibitors in 608,000 square feet of exhibits.
