Renovations Complete at Cabana Beach Club at Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa
Sawgrass Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., has completed major renovations to the Cabana Beach Club in Ponte Vedra Beach. The refurbishment project, which included extensive enhancements and upgrades to the private club’s pool, restaurants and playground areas, were property-wide and took several months to complete. Club management hopes the property improvements, along with a newly unveiled selection of leisure activities and children’s camps, will drive new and renewed interest in the club from beach enthusiasts throughout the region.

2007 Golf Industry Show Ranked 82nd Largest of Year
Tradeshow Week ranked the second annual Golf Industry Show (GIS) as No. 82 among all U.S. exhibitions that were held last year, reflecting its strong performance when it was held in Anaheim, Calif., during February 2007. Rank is determined by net square feet of paid exhibit space. The total attendance at the 2007 show was 23,109, including 981 exhibitors covering 291,250 square feet of exhibit space. Officials were pleased with the final statistics and reviews, given that the West Coast traditionally attracts fewer attendees and exhibitors.

April Weather Continues Down-Up Pattern for “Playable Hours”
Pellucid Corp., which provides data-based consulting services to the golf industry, reports that April's largely favorable weather around the country posted an 11% increase in Golf Playable Hours (GPH) for the month, compared to the same period last year.
