Ron Jaworski, a former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and current ESPN commentator, has added another golf course to his portfolio and acquired the Downingtown (Pa.) Country Club, the Philadelphia Business Journal reported.
Jaworski’s firm, Ron Jaworski Golf, bought the club in partnership with Ken Kochenour, who is the founder of GF Management, Ira Lubert, the real estate mogul who formed Lubert-Adler Partners, and Joe Williamson, a Downingtown-area businessman, the Business Journal reported.
The seller was Adam Loew, the son of the late Jack Loew, a well-known Chester County developer. Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed, the Business Journal reported.
The 6,619-yard, par-72 course is the sixth for Jaworski’s company. The others are: Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in Galloway, N.J.; Honey Run Golf Club in York, Pa.;, RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club in West Deptford, N.J.; Running Deer Golf Club in Pittsgrove, N.J.; and Valleybrook Country Club in Blackwood, N.J.
The course was designed by George Fazio and constructed in the mid-1960s. The club is also a popular wedding venue, the Business Journal reported.
