The Carmel, N.Y., facility’s 340-acre layout features three nine-hole golf courses, extensive practice facilities, a restaurant and catering amenities.
Troon® has been selected to manage Centennial Golf Club in Carmel, N.Y., which features a 27-hole championship course designed by Larry Nelson, a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame and winner of the U.S. Open and two PGA Championships.
Nelson has called the 340-acre layout at Centennial with its rolling hills, ponds, natural rock outcroppings and breathtaking views, “the most naturally suited to golf” he has ever seen. Between the three nine-hole courses, Meadows, Lakes and Fairways, golfers enjoy a totally distinct experience. Centennial’s large multiple tees are positioned so any combination of the three nines can be accommodating to the beginner or a test of more than 7,100 yards for the most accomplished player.
“Centennial Golf Club is a fantastic facility offering a complete golf experience with 27 outstanding holes, popular restaurant and catering amenities and a practice facility that is second to none,” said John Easterbrook, executive vice president, operations, Troon. “We are happy to expand Troon’s presence in New York and to immediately make a positive impact on the operations at Centennial.”
Centennial Golf Club’s practice facilities include a double-ended driving range and bunkered target greens, complemented by an extensive short-game area designed by Dave Pelz with three putting greens and two separate chipping and bunker areas. Centennial also hosts Dave Pelz Golf Schools from May through September.
“Since the day we opened Centennial Golf Club, our goal has been to deliver a premium golf experience on the same level with the country’s most prestigious private clubs,” said David Leibowits, Centennial Golf Club. “Troon is the leading management company for premier golf clubs and we are confident their experience and resources will provide tremendous benefits as the club moves in a new and exciting direction.”
