In addition to an 18-hole FootGolf course that will open in October, the Hot Springs, Ark., property will also offer a nine-hole golf course that will be ready in 2015.
Shuttered Belvedere Country Club has succumbed to the weeds like many courses around the nation, but one man has plans to transform the property into FootGolf, the Central Arkansas KARK 4 News reported.
Robert Raines, future owner of Belvedere, believes the new take on the game will increase interest in golf, so he can renovate the historic golf course, KARK reported.
“It’s a real fixer-upper right now but with a little tender love care and a little bit of FootGolf being played, it can come back,” said Raines.
While the course will include an 18-hole FootGolf course, it will also have a nine-hole USGA regular golf course with Bermuda greens. The nine-hole course should be ready to go shortly after the start of 2015 but until then, Raines plans on opening FootGolf in October, KARK reported.
