An unidentified groundskeeper in his 20s was found dead underneath a tractor at the Stone Mountain, Ga., golf course after it had apparently rolled onto him as he went down a hill.
Authorities investigated the scene of a fatal accident involving a tractor at the Smoke Rise Country Club in Stone Mountain, Ga., on July 28, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
DeKalb County fire spokesman Capt. Eric Jackson said the man, a groundskeeper in his 20s, was on the golf course when the accident happened around 2:30 p.m., the Journal-Constitution reported.
“It appears that he was operating a tractor with a grass blower attached to the back,” Jackson said. “It is believed he was coming down a hill when the tractor turned over.”
Jackson said the man’s name has not yet been released, but two people believed to be his parents were on the scene, the Journal-Constitution reported.
“There are several police officers here, still working the scene, trying to figure out exactly what happened,” Jackson said.
The man was discovered by other groundskeepers, Jackson told the Journal-Constitution.
