“It looked like a bomb went off,” the owner of the Whitewater, Wis., property said of the extensive damage, which involved destruction of eight golf carts, as well as tee markers, poles, benches, garbage cans, and a soda machine. The greens were not damaged, but the property is offering $2,200 for information leading to an arrest.

Before Millenium Golf Management took over operations of the Tempe, Ariz., course three years ago, the municipal property was losing money and in need of a turnaround. A city spokeswoman said “the golf fund is in the best shape it’s been in for probably 10 years,” and the city is due to renew the management contract on May 1.

The Iredell County Sheriff’s office believes it has identified a man who is suspected in at least six break-ins at Twin Oaks GC, Statesville CC, and Mallard Head CC. The office released photos and security video of the man, who stole Titleist Pro V1 golf balls and cash.
Community Donates Trees to Holiday Hills CC
As part of an effort to beautify Mineral Wells, Texas on Arbor Day weekend, the property created a way for golfers to give back in the form of trees from a local nursery, and raised more than $3,200 last year with the project. For each $25 increment received in direct donations, a green fee and cart were offered throughout the weekend, and 10% of green fees went toward the Arbor Day Fund.
GC at Ballantyne Earns Wildlife Habitat Certification
The public Charlotte, N.C., property earned the distinction from the National Wildlife Federation for providing wildlife with food, water, shelter, and a place to raise their young. Deer, coyotes, river otters, beavers, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, a variety of reptiles and amphibians, and at least 48 species of birds call the 200-acre golf course home.
