For the fourth biennial summit, to be held at the JW Marriott Orlando Hotel Grande Lakes, the Titleist Performance Institute will bring together leading health, fitness and coaching experts for an educational conference that will highlight trends, technologies and techniques that are shaping golf.
From October 11-13, the fourth biennial World Golf Fitness Summit, hosted by Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), will bring together golf’s leading health, fitness and coaching experts for a three-day educational conference.
The summit, to held at the JW Marriott Orlando Hotel Grande Lakes, will also provide an opportunity for those training, healing and coaching golfers to learn about the trends, technologies and techniques that are shaping golf.
Dr. Greg Rose and Dave Phillips, co-founders of TPI, will host the event. TPI began in 2003 when Rose and Phillips combined Titleist’s fitting expertise with groundbreaking health and fitness programs to help players achieve their goals. Rose and Phillips also host “Golf Fitness Academy,” which has run on the Golf Channel for eight seasons.
“Now more than ever, golf fitness and health are being talked about in golf circles,” said Phillips. “While you don’t have to be fit to play golf, it certainly sets the bar for how good you can become.
“The World Golf Fitness Summit brings together the best trainers, instructors and health professionals to discuss practical applications that all golfers can use to enhance their ability to play the game for a lifetime.”
The summit in 2010 saw more than 500 golf health and fitness professionals from 18 countries in attendance. This year’s event has nearly 50 industry experts scheduled to speak and is expected to be even bigger than years past.
Planned speakers include:
- TPI-certified instructors Claude Harmon II and Mark Blackburn, who have worked with golfers of all ages and skill levels.
- Chris Noss, who works with PGA Tour players and owns Motion Performance Group, and will speak on “The Weekly Progression: Training Your Weekend Golfer Like a Pro.”
- Andrew Fischer, a golf fitness instructor on the PGA Tour, who will present on the topic “Motivating a Master – Bubba Watson.”
- Ben Shear, a golf fitness expert and Director of Performance Training at Ben Shear Golf, who will host a presentation titled “TIGHTNESS.”
