Paxon Hollow CC to Maintain Fee Structure

Following a unanimous vote by Marple Township Commissioners, the Media, Pa., club is hoping to entice early birds by giving a free month if people sign on for 2013 season plans before the end of December.

The current fee structure at Paxon Hollow Country Club in Media, Pa. will be maintained for 2013 following a unanimous vote by Marple Township (Pa.) Commissioners, the Delaware County (Pa.) News Network reported.

“They are trying to entice people to sign up early,” said Township Manager Tony Hamaday. “People will get a month free if they sign up before the end of December.”

The decision to maintain the current fee structure at the suburban Philadelphia club will apply to season pass and daily rates. Passes valid for the calendar year may be purchased as either weekday or seven-day plans, the News Network reported.

The weekday plan permits golfers to play 18 holes per day throughout the year on weekdays, with the exception of Good Friday, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day. The rate for single passes for township residents is $1,300 (non-resident: $1,600); husband and wife, $2,000 (non-resident: $2,500) and child 12-18 with an adult, $600 (non-resident: $800), the News Network reported.

Seven-day plans permit 18 holes per day on any day. The resident single rate is $1,700 (non-resident: $2,100); husband and wife, $2,600 (non-resident: $3,300), and child 12-18 with an adult, $700 (non-resident: $900). Township residents 65 and older receive a ten percent discount on all passes, the News Network reported.

Daily rates, effective April 1 through October 31, will remain $50 for morning rounds Monday through Thursday ($60 Friday through Sunday); $40 ($45) for afternoons and $30 ($35) for twilight. Play is also offered weekdays for nine holes ($30) and for juniors up to age 18 ($25). A $5 discount is available on certain rounds for township residents with identification, and winter rates begin November 1, the News Network reported.

Before 1 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, golf carts are mandatory, at a rental fee of $18 for 18 holes, or $10 when the afternoon rate applies.
