Ranchland Hills Golf Club has signed a contract with STW Resources, a water reclamation services company, to design and build a water desalination facility for the Midland, Texas club, West Texas CBS 7 News reported.
The facility will produce 700,000 gallons of water a day to maintain the greens and fairways on the course by converting brackish well water to the equivalent of rain water. The equipment is expected to be delivered in 10 to 12 weeks, CBS 7 News reported.
“By cleaning up brackish water to use in watering the golf course, [the owners of the Ranchland Hills Golf Club] are saving the scarce water resources of West Texas,” STW Resources CEO Stanley Weiner told CBS 7 News. “They are demonstrating that they are conservation-minded and good stewards of the Midland community.”
