After eyewitnesses spotted a pickup truck causing an estimated $500-$1,000 worth of damage to the green of the third hole at the property, the Adams, Mass., club is offering a $200 reward for information about the vandalism.
Officials at Forest Park Country Club in Adams, Mass., are offering a $200 reward for information about vandalism to its greens, the North Adams Transcript reported.
Bruce Cardin, Course Manager, said at approximately 8 p.m. on August 25, eyewitnesses reported seeing a green pickup truck get stuck on the green of the third hole after veering off the road, the Transcript reported.
Cardin said the vehicle caused “considerable damage” as the operator spun its tires to remove the truck from the property. Cardin estimated the damage at $500 to $1,000 and looks to police for the “arrest and conviction of the person responsible,” the Transcript reported.
“It’s a very labor-intensive process to fix [the green],” Cardin said. “The ground has to be cut and resodded. We’ve had other instances of vandalism, but this is the first time we’ve ever had it happen on a green.”
Adams Police Department is investigating the case, the Transcript reported.
