Two Charged in Suburban Philadelphia Country Club Thefts

Real-life “wedding crashers” stole more than $9,500 in envelopes with cash and checks while trying to blend in as guests.

Police say two 20-year-old suburban Philadelphia men stole more than $9,500 after crashing three country club events earlier this year, the Bucks County Courier Times reports.

John Connor Adair and Perry Longo Jr. have been charged with stealing cash and checks from events at two Northampton, Pa. country clubs between April and June.

Authorities say Longo would wait in a getaway car while Adair would walk into parties being held at the clubs. He then allegedly stole or tried to steal containers in which guests placed envelopes containing cash and checks for newlyweds or other guests of honor. Police allege Adair would wear a dress shirt, tie and jacket and try to blend in with the events’ guests while committing the crimes.

The men are charged with theft and other counts and have been released on bail.
