The Lexington, Ky., club, which has added 87 members this year, opened its golf course in 1989. Other club amenities include a junior-size Olympic swimming pool, tennis courts and a 20,000-sq. ft. clubhouse.
The Board of Directors at Andover Golf & Country Club has selected KemperSports to manage the private, member-owned golf course and club in Lexington, Ky.
“It’s an exciting time for our Board, members and staff as we begin our partnership with KemperSports,” said Ken Hill, President of Andover Golf & Country Club. “KemperSports is known for its proven reputation in golf course management and club operations, and we look forward to working with its team to take Andover Golf & Country Club to the next level and to continue to grow our membership.”
Andover’s 18-hole, Clyde Johnston-designed golf course opened in 1989 and delivers a true test, with water coming into play on 11 of the 18 holes. It measures 6,952 yards from the back tees and offers five tee placements along with a complete practice facility, driving range, putting green and short-game practice area.
“Andover’s family-oriented membership and club amenities make it one of the most desirable private clubs in the Lexington market,” said KemperSports Chief Executive Officer Steve Skinner. “It’s an exciting time at Andover, as 87 new members have been added this year. We are eager to continue this momentum as we partner with the Board of Directors, members and staff.”
Andover sits on 162 acres of land and offers a junior-size Olympic swimming pool, tennis courts and 20,000-sq. ft. clubhouse with a 150-person formal dining room, grille, pro shop and men’s and women’s locker room facilities.
KemperSports will begin managing the property on August 13, 2012.
