The transaction is expected to close before June 30, pending approval from Wintergreen’s Class A Equity members.
After approval from the Wintergreen Partners, Inc. Board of Directors, James C. Justice Companies, Inc., acquired Wintergreen (Va.) Resort on May 29. The agreement will be presented to the Class A Equity members of Wintergreen for approval.
James C. Justice, II, Chairman, President and CEO of James C. Justice Companies, also owns Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.

The resort’s food-and-beverage operations, with four year-round and four winter-only dining venues totaling $5.3 million in annual revenues, was featured in the November 2011 issue of C&RB (“Making Food & Beverage Sing at Wintergreen Resort”).
“We intend to take this property to the next level and see tremendous opportunities as we work with the Wintergreen management and staff in developing new membership programs and vacation packages. The Wintergreen facilities are spectacular and the entire resort has a tremendous impact on the local and regional tourism industry,” Justice said in announcing the acquisition.
