Ledgemont CC Targets Under-40 Crowd With New Membership Categories

Four new age brackets offer attractive rates for full-privilege access to the historic Seekonk, Mass. club.

Ledgemont Country Club enjoys a reputation as one of southeastern New England’s most distinguished private clubs, with an historic, Alfred Tull-designed championship course that is considered one of the Golden Age architect’s best works. But the Seekonk, Mass. club, which was established in 1924 and will serve as the host for this year’s Rhode Island Open, is not sitting on its laurels as it looks to its future. In an effort to make golf more affordable and accessible to the next generation of club members, Ledgemont has announced that it is offering four different age-bracket memberships for golfers under the age of 40.

The four “under 40″ age groups are: 20-25; 26-29; 30-34; and 35-39. The attractive rates are available either to a Golf Single, Golf Family 1 (for a couple with only one adult playing) or Golf Family 2 (with both adults playing). All of the golf memberships include full use of the Ledgemont facilities, including the range, pool, tennis and dining.

“Ledgemont understands that in today’s economy, clubs need to be creative in presenting competitive membership options that are tailored to different age groups, as well as interests,” said General Manager Jack Tosone. “Our under-40 membership packages are popular with this important audience because they are fairly priced, provide significant value and give young adults the chance to belong to a golf club. And we hope to retain them when they turn 40.”

In addition to its renowned golf course, other amenities offered at Ledgemont include a swimming pool, Har-Tru tennis courts and clubhouse with fine dining options. Other membership categories offered by the club include Corporate, Pool & Tennis, House and a special Unaffiliated Junior Golf Membership.

Ledgemont is proud of its diverse membership and the fact that it was one of the first to endorse gender neutral playing policies. It is a member of both the Rhode Island Golf Association and the Massachusetts Golf Association.
