Since Billy Casper Golf began operating the Ashland, Va. club in the beginning of 2012, membership has jumped by over 150 percent, thanks to golf course improvements and new financial incentives.
Hanover Country Club in Ashland, Va. has seen a 152 percent increase in membership since naming Billy Casper Golf (BCG) as operator in January 2012, reports The Mechanicsville (Va.) Local.
BCG added Hanover and Bay View Golf Park in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii to its roster earlier this year: http://www.clubandresortbusiness.com/2012/01/27/billy-casper-golf-announces-two-new-club-management-contracts/. At Hanover, BCG has enhanced golf course conditions (Hanover renovated its course in 2007) and offered financial incentives to join, by waiving the initiation fee and two months’ dues for the first 50 new members.
Additionally, BCG handles member programs, operations, maintenance, sales, marketing, staffing, merchandising, restaurant activities, special events and financial management for the 6,700-yard, par-71 course.
Hanover has received an environmental boost as well through “BCGreen,” BCG’s initiative to conserve, protect and enhance the environment. Enrollment in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” program has increased efficiencies in maintenance, energy, water, pesticides, equipment wear and labor.
BCG, headquartered in Vienna, Va., manages over 130 clubs.
