The first Gary Player-designed golf course in Honduras is currently under construction.
Troon has been appointed to manage Los Micos Beach & Golf Resort located near Tela Bay in Honduras.
Positioned along the northern coast of Honduras, Los Micos Beach & Golf Resort boasts the country’s first Gary Player-designed golf course, which is currently under construction. The project also encompasses more than 1,800 acres of pristine land featuring golden sand beaches, diverse wildlife, and the unique beauty of the Caribbean coastline.
“Los Micos Beach & Golf Resort is a beautiful property located in an extremely unique and desirable destination,” stated John Easterbrook, Executive Vice President of operations, Troon Golf. “We are very pleased to be involved in the project and look forward to delivering an exceptional experience to those who visit.”
When complete, the project will feature a five-star hotel that will benefit from the area’s unique attractions. In addition to championship golf, Los Micos Beach & Golf Resort’s tropical climate, biodiversity and all-around natural beauty make it the ideal destination for visitors seeking both adventure and relaxation.
“We feel extremely proud and satisfied to have such a prestigious brand like Troon as our newest partner,” shared José Antonio Gutierrez, General Manager of Desarrollo Turístico Bahía de Tela. “With this new alliance, we are guaranteeing that our golf course will offer the services and top-notch experiences that Troon is known for around the world, both for our guests and investors.”
The 18-hole golf course at Los Micos Beach & Golf Resort, along with the entire development, is focused on preserving the natural characteristics of the land by implementing environmentally friendly building and design practices. The area is also ideal for ecotourism with the Punta Sal National Park, Punta Izopo Wildlife Reserve and Lancetilla Botanical Garden all located near Tela Bay.
