Previously, Castro was the Assistant GM at Indian Wells’ The Vintage Club.
Al Castro will join the Rancho Santa Fe (Calif.) Golf Club as general manager and chief operating officer April 30 after a nearly 14-year career at The Vintage Club in Indian Wells, Calif.
“Al Castro was the unanimous choice of the selection committee and the Rancho Santa Fe Golf Club Board of Governors,” said RSF Association Manager Pete Smith.
Castro started at The Vintage Club as Director of Food and Beverage in 1998 and was soon promoted to clubhouse manager; most recently he held the position as assistant general manager and was responsible for all club operations. Prior to his tenure at the Vintage, he was director of food and beverage at the Ritz Carlton in Rancho Mirage. Before joining the Ritz Carlton, he held the positions of director of food and beverage and later director of operations at the Historic Mission Inn in downtown Riverside.
Castro received his certification as certified club manager (CCM) from the Club Managers Association of America and has earned the Level II Certified Sommelier designation from the Court of Master Sommeliers.
