Hanover CC in Virginia and Bay View GC in Hawaii will now be part of the management firm’s portfolio of over 130 properties.
Billy Casper Golf (BCG) has been selected to manage Hanover Country Club in Ashland, Va., and Bay View Golf Park in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii.
The addition of Hanover to BCG’s roster of over 130 managed clubs increases the company’s Mid-Atlantic portfolio to 22 properties. BCG will oversee all aspects of Hanover’s member programs, operations, golf course and property maintenance, sales, marketing and public relations, staffing and training, merchandising, restaurant and banquet activities, special events and financial management.
“Billy Casper Golf will introduce new, exciting programming to enhance our membership roster,” said Jeffrey Cornwell, General Manager of Hanover Country Club. “The company’s excellent track-record boosting performances of similar clubs resonated with our Board.”
Peter Hill, Chairman and CEO of Billy Casper Golf, said: “Hanover’s strong course layout, secluded natural setting and sense of community contribute to wonderful experiences at the club. Members and guests will realize the BCG difference.”
For a limited time, Hanover is waiving its initiation fee and two months dues for the first 50 new members under a two-year program. Categories include full, junior, senior and social / athletic memberships for individuals, couples and families.
BCG will enact its proprietary “BCGreen” initiative at Hanover to conserve, protect and enhance the environment. Hanover will enroll in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” program. This designation increases efficiencies in maintenance, energy, water, pesticides, fertilizer, equipment wear and labor.
Bay View Golf Park will be BCG’s fourth Hawaiian property (Ka’anapali Golf Resort, Kukuiolono GC, and Puakea GC are the others). The company will, again, oversee all aspects of the facility’s golf operation.
“Billy Casper Golf’s professional approach will make an immediate impact on course conditions and golfer satisfaction,” said Jerry Appleby, Lead Pastor of Windward Church of the Nazarene, which recently purchased Bay View. “The future is bright for Bay View to once again become a popular gathering place.”
Peter Hill recognizes Bay View’s suitability for junior golfers, beginners and families, and says that, with the commitment to invest capital into the course, the before and after will be dramatic under BCG’s leadership.
Initial course-enhancement projects include renovating the irrigation system, re-turfing the greens and implementing an aggressive agronomic plan for consistent turfgrass conditions.
Ed Kageyama, BCG Hawaii Regional Manager, will oversee operations at Bay View. Kageyama has extensive experience working in the Hawaiian golf industry, previously holding positions at Ka’anapali Golf Resort, Turtle Bay Resort, Ko’olau GC and Coral Creek GC. He has twice been recognized as a “Most Admired Operator” by Golf Inc.
As at Hanover, BCG will enact its proprietary “BCGreen” initiative at Bay View to conserve, protect and enhance the environment. Bay View will also be enrolled in the Audubon International “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” program.
Designed by award-winning architect Robin Nelson, Bay View’s 18-hole, 3,269-yard executive course features four par 4s and 14 par 3s set among spectacular Oahu surroundings. Bay View also has a 40-stall, double-deck driving range and a 36-hole mini golf course.
