ClubCorp, The World Leader in Private Clubs, announces that its fifth annual ClubCorp Charity Classic, the company’s nationwide major philanthropic open-house event, is now under way. Through Dec. 31, 2011, more than 130 golf and country clubs and business and sports clubs around the country are opening their courses and dining rooms to an estimated 16,000 members, guests, and patrons for tournaments, dining events, auctions, and social extravaganzas throughout the country.
Since its inception in 2007, ClubCorp’s Charity Classic has raised nearly $6.5 million benefiting charities including MDA’s Augie’s Quest, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Boys and Girls Clubs, and the ClubCorp Employee Partners Care Foundation.
“I am so proud of what the ClubCorp Charity Classic has become and of our clubs and their members for making this annual event so successful,” said Eric Affeldt, ClubCorp president and CEO. “Each year, the clubs exceed my expectations and create even more spectacular events that benefit very worthy causes and help so many.”
