Springfield Country Club Returning to Private Membership

Starting May 1, the Springfield (Ore.) Country Club will return to Private Membership only, reports Eugene’s The Register-Guard. The member-owned, nonprofit club has been semiprivate since the fall of 2008.

“We felt we’d be able to service our members a little better and have a more exclusive product,” said club President Steve Kaster.

Monthly dues for individuals – which had been $238 a month – will decrease to $189. Family memberships will cost $244 per month. The club’s initiation fee will be waived for the first 30 people to sign up. The next 30 will pay a $250 initiation fee, and the fee will increase from there in increments of $250 as more members join, up to a limit of $2,000, says The Register-Guard. The changes in membership status and fee structures were ratified by the membership, Kaster added.
