Gleneagles Country Club, a ClubCorp property in Plano, Texas, has been selected to serve as the site of America’s International-Final Qualifier (IFQ). The IFQ will be held on May 24, on the Gleneagles Queens Course. The R&A will host five IFQ events on five different continents, giving players a chance to gain entry into the 2010 British Open Championship, golf’s oldest championship. Last year the America qualifier included names such as Davis Love III, Woody Austin, Jesper Parnevik, Matt Kuchar, James Driscoll and many more.
“Having the opportunity for the second year in a row to see some of the best golfers in the world play here at Gleneagles, with so much at stake, is a thrill for our members and staff alike. We are equally excited to be able to once again invite all of the golf fans throughout the Metroplex to join us for a great day of golf inside the ropes,” stated Mickey Wszolek, Gleneagles’ Club Manager.
The IFQ has been held in America since 2004 at such prestigious venues as Congressional Country Club (Bethesda, Md.), Oakland Hills Country Club (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and TPC of Dearborn (Mich.).
