New Initiatives at Superstition Mountain G&CC Result in 35 New Memberships

From January through the first week of March, 2010, ten new full golf memberships have been sold and 25 trial members have converted to full golf memberships reports Superstition Mountain (Ariz.) Golf and Country Club.

In late 2009, Superstition Mountain and OB Sports, who professionally manages the club, introduced a new membership plan and new programs; including offering memberships at market price ($15,000), unveiling a new member-referral program and adding a new amnesty program. In addition, Superstition Mountain unveiled limited “Club Guest” or daily-fee play opportunities to the 11-year-old private club, further introducing the club to a larger audience of golfers.

“The results of our new membership initiatives have been amazing,” said Gene Blum, General Manager at Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club. “To add this amount of new members in just a couple of months at Superstition Mountain, in this economy, is outstanding.”

Superstition Mountain G&CC features two Nicklaus Design golf courses, The Prospector and Lost Gold. The Prospector Golf Course, which opened in 1998, combined the creative skills of Jack Nicklaus and his son Gary. Prospector has been the site of the 2002 Countrywide Tradition tournament and the home of the LPGA Safeway International from 2004 to 2008. The recently adopted membership plan allows for limited daily fee club guest tee times on one golf course while the second course will remain exclusive for current and new members.
